The Gourmet Camp Oven Experience is a four course culinary adventure operated by Josh and Tamsyn Melville. It is Josh and Tamsyn's sole purpose to give their guests the most unique experience and memories that will last for a lifetime.
Josh has a background in Zoology and a post-graduate degree in Environmental Management and his passion for nature led him from New Zealand to the beautiful East Kimberley where he has focused his guiding talents for the past 13 years.
Josh created Lake Argyle Adventures in 2015 while working on the cruises at Lake Argyle Resort and Caravan Park. Demand for Josh's tours ensured that what started as a side project became a full-time operation over the Kimberley's dry season. The Gourmet Camp Oven Experience in particular quickly became a crowd favourite and is now regarded as a 'must do' for both locals and visitors alike.
His love for food is second to none. From as early as 10 years of age, he began cooking dinner for the family (holding a firm belief that the chef doesn't do the dishes!). As head chef, Josh has hand picked his favourite flavours of the East Kimberley and uses only the best local and fresh ingredients for the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience.
He also has a Trinity College of Music Performers degree, and showcases his musical talents during the event - You are serenaded whilst enjoying your delectable main course.
Behind every successful man is an amazing woman! Josh's wife and best friend is the beautiful English rose Tamsyn.
As a qualified personal trainer, Tamsyn once spent her days helping people lose weight and now ironically feeds her guests scrumptious food highlighting flavours of the East Kimberley!
Tamsyn is also the hard working hostess and sous chef. With 15 years of experience in hospitality, Tamsyn has developed a keen eye for the finer things. Her attention to detail ensures that the atmosphere is charming and every meal is plated to perfection!
In 2023, the time came for Josh and Tamsyn to leave Lake Argyle for Kununurra where the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience is located today.
